There are numerous activities available in Vancouver and surrounding areas. The Organizing Committee has put together several suggestions listed below. These tours can be arranged for individuals or groups and could also be arranged as pre- or post-conference events if sufficient interest is expressed. In addition to the options mentioned below, there are a number of free options to explore in Vancouver: Stanley Park (walking or biking the sea wall); Granville Island Market; Queen Elizabeth Park Gardens, and others (visit the ‘Around Vancouver’ and ‘Around UBC’ tabs).
Of course there is also shopping: downtown on Robson Street (international designers and famous brands); in Gastown (independent Vancouver fashion and First Nations art); South Granville Street (with numerous commercial art galleries and clothing boutiques); and Main Street (original fashion boutiques, 2nd hand boutiques, and antiques).
All of the above mentioned venues can be accessed by individuals at their convenience. Or, if you are interested in a group tour of any of these sites, we are prepared to arrange for visits and accompany a group to the various sites via public transportation. If you are interested in a group visit, please contact Cheryl: firstname.lastname@example.org before June 1, 2015.
Following on the interest expressed, a schedule could be developed that would include a couple of options; for example:
Grouse Mountain and Lynn Canyon or Capilano Suspension Bridge
Stanley Park Seawall Walk and the Aquarium
Vancouver Art Gallery, Dr. Sun Yet Sen Classical Chinese Garden and China town
Van Dusen Botanical Gardens and Main Street Shopping
Granville Island and South Granville Shopping
